Today we’re talking with holistic nutritionist and strength trainer Sylvie Tetrault about what it means to be a high performer, and how you can take your fitness to the next level.

A few weeks ago I was speaking at an event called Mind Body Reset, and one of the speakers that came before me was Sylvie Tetrault. Sylvie is a holistic nutritionist, a trainer, and the host of the Championship Lifestyle Podcast. The focus of Sylvie’s career is getting all of us to execute as high performers. Sylvie shared so much great wisdom that I approached her after the event and asked her to come on the podcast and talk to my audience.

Today I had the pleasure of sitting down with her and we covered all sorts of elements but most importantly we talked about how to go from that place where we’re sort of floundering with what we eat and how we exercise, to the types of strategies we should implement in order to get a plan in place. Whether you’ve been wanting to get going or you already have a program and want to take it to the next level, this conversation is for you.

Key Takeaways:

[2:56] Sylvie became interested in strength training after she realized that she couldn’t do a pull-up. She has now had the opportunity to train a lot of high performers.

[6:42] What does an appropriate recovery time look like?

[15:03] You can learn to make healthy recipes, and it doesn’t have to take a long time. Eating well needs to be a priority.

[16:35] Eating right will help you in all areas of your life.

[17:35] Start by increasing your movement rather than adopting an “exercise plan.”

[23:01] What’s the right way to do cardio?

[26:25] What elements will the best exercise plan incorporate?

[31:42] Sometimes you have to think outside the box to find the right solution for your health.

[33:45] How can you find a good trainer?

[37:00] Sylvie focuses on helping people find their individual path to wellness.

[37:36] Health is knowing your body and its needs.
